Test pitting at Friston Field

Dust off your trowels! We will be digging some test pits around the perimeter of Friston Field on the weekends of 13th/14th and 27th/28th of May.

Anyone wishing to take part please email rhianecrp@outlook.com  with the dates you are available. We would strongly encourage any new and less experienced members to take part if you can.

Digging a test pit is a good way to learn or practice archaeological techniques as it is essentially a mini excavation which you can see through from start to finish in a weekend.

There will be a bit of heavy work; old hands will remember that what comes out must go back in! More details to follow nearer the time.
