CRP members got 2022 off to a fast start with a thorough metal detecting survey (with permission) of the paddock behind the Caistor Hall Hotel as the hotel had cut the grass.
Some interesting finds and a lot of rubbish as usual.
Setting out an enormous grid in a cold and frosty field.
Andy thinks there’s something in here Ian makes a find
And despite his blindness site dig Sam gets involved / in the way …
Giles & Andy also had a poke around in the spoil heaps from the hotel’s most recent landscaping work …
The finds are being cleaned, reported and returned to the hotel.
Hello, my name is Julian Williamson in my early fifties and would love to get hands in involved in the recent project in the paddocks behind the caister hall hotel.
Whether it’s helping dig new areas, cleaning up, detecting, scraping I would love to be involved.
I live just up the road in Tuckswood and have enjoyed the magic of ambling over and around the main caistor
Roman camp & the wonder and magic of that area.
I hope you can find a place for me to help. Local history,
discovery, the past. Just amazing.
Please contact me & hopefully I can get involved very soon.
Many Thanks, & happy uncovering out past.
Julian
Hi Julian
Thanks for getting in touch. The best way to get involved in what we do would be to join the project so please go to that sevtopn in the website and give it a go.
Post excavation there is also the opportunity to be involved in the finds processing.
But hopefully the website gives you a good feel for what we do.
Any problems please give me an email or call 07971 147694
Cheers
Andy
